A major new public artwork celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Malcolm X visit to Smethwick, West Midlands is to be unveiled at the Ivy Bush Bar & Grill Wednesday 12th February 2025. The art work commissioned by Legacy West Midlands, as part of the MX60 Collective and funded by the Arts Council.

We Carry the Light was a nine month project which brought together women to stitch personal stories of heritage, family and life, shining a spotlight on the knowledge and light that women carry and pass on to others. This was a response to the lack of representation of women in published Lunar Society history.
